The debate is over. Mainly because climate scientists and their apologists are out of arguments. Since the climate has failed to cooperate with their extreme environmental dogma, they’ve been reduced to arguing that “more scientists agree” that global warming threatens life as we know it than don’t. In a way they may be right. Nothing to do with patterns of climate mind you but rather more to do with regulations and mandates that curtail freedom, prosperity and happiness. The climate data over the past couple of decades has shot down their predictions, and it didn’t help much when the UN’s vaunted crew at Britain’s East Anglia University got caught fudging the facts, wondering in writing how they might “hide the decline” in temperatures so they could rescue the famed “hockey stick” graph they’d invented to describe earth’s (or was it Al Gore’s) “fever.”
The claim that “the planet has a fever,” has been proven ludicrous. The Northern Hemisphere has seen some brutal, deadly cold the past couple of years, so cold in fact that so called “green energy” technology like wind turbines and solar panels were rendered useless for weeks or months.
Is there no limit to the lengths to which the UN will go, or the lengths the U.S. government agencies will go to force their “planet saving” green agenda on an apathetic, distracted population? The UN recently released its latest IPCC reports, confirming that the planet is getting warmer and we’re all in danger. The ice caps, they say, are melting, the seas becoming more acidic. (They don’t tell you that in fact they meant the oceans are becoming a fraction less alkaline on the pH scale, but are certainly not acidic.) Earth’s population, the report claims, will variously experience water shortages and dangerous floods. Urgent actions must be taken, because the ramifications of climate change will affect every single human being on earth.
The new report, we’re told, exhibits “humility” on the part of the IPCC scientists who’ve been embarrassed repeatedly as their predictions have been proven false. Their prognostications about rising temperatures have been way off. You won’t hear it often, but there’s been no detectable warming over the past 17 years! Few could have missed the record-shattering cold that gripped much of the United States all winter and well into the spring season. And the succession of numerous and violent hurricanes forecast for 2013 never materialized either. But, as we’ve been reminded in situations like these, global warming is not about the weather, except in instances where Al Gore and the green clergy say it is. Like, say the tornadoes that have swept across the Midwest in recent years. Those, they would have us believe, are definite proof of the deadly impact of global warming.
The U.S. government is on the job, having wholeheartedly embraced “green” ideology. A host of laws and regulations has seen to it that our gasoline has been diluted with ethanol, incandescent light bulb production banned, smart meters have been installed on our homes, plastic bags are banned in a host of cities, and the armed services are switching to “bio-fuel.” Freedom? Personal choice? Constitutional concerns are wholly inappropriate amid the ever so frightening “global warming crisis.” We’re supposed to understand nothing else matters while the planet is being saved.
We’ve been tutored for decades now, since even before the global warming craze and the radical turn toward everything “green,” about the need to recycle everything from newspapers to shampoo bottles. And have you noticed? The same crowd that is dragging us into a regulatory nightmare on the basis of radical “environmental” solutions is also in the tank for border breaching aliens, “gay marriage,” gun control, abortion rights, and socialist health-care, to name their favorites.
In the UK, they’ve taken the philosophy to a whole new level, actually linking elements of socialist doctrine together for the benefit of the “public.” First, women are exercising their “right” to “terminate” a pregnancy. Then the unwanted “tissue” is “recycled” for incineration that in turn helps to heat the hospital where the public gets its “free,” government provided health-care. This may sound like something the Nazis would have done, but rest assured, no such comparison will be tolerated. Still, the public airing of this practice has caused some embarrassment and brought official assurances that the practice will be curtailed.
But when you think about it, the damage has largely been done. Incalculable economic damage has been inflicted on all the economies of the developed world. Science on this subject has been corrupted by a United Nations which wants worldwide authority to regulate, and have a say in the transfer of funds from developed, industrialized nations to third world countries that have supposedly suffered adverse consequences of “climate change.” From Europe to Australia to Canada and Britain there is little enthusiasm left for the prospect of further economic calamity, particularly in light of the obvious fraud committed by “global climate experts,” humiliated by the exposure of their fraud and failed predictions.
The one glaring exception is the United States, under current leadership. It is not enough that untold tens of billions have been wasted on a litany of “green” energy projects that saw political boosters of the administration get fabulously wealthy, taking one boondoggle after another into bankruptcy at taxpayer expense. But the current president is not deterred whatsoever. No, “climate change” is a top priority of the second term, and both pen and phone are busy instructing heavily armed agencies to take action.
It’s hard to know how anything as despicable as London’s “recycling project” could be enacted here in the United States, but we do have armed raids on guitar factories by Homeland Security (of all things) on the pretext that they may have violated some protected wood regulation in Madagascar or India (which they apparently did not).” That whole story was laid out in a Fox News special entitled “Enemies of the State.” But it seems like the most helpless enemies of the state are unborn babies whose mothers would like to terminate. That As Green as it Gets requires all sorts of government involvement (“protection” of a woman’s rights, they call it), subsidies for “clinics,” and legal actions. What a relief to know, at least here in the U.S., they’re not being incinerated to heat government buildings! But given the newly discovered authority of the commander of executive orders, we might be right to wonder just how “green” it’s going to get.
Hospitals have incinerated thousands of foetuses without their parents’ knowledge, a damning investigation has found. The remains of thousands of aborted and miscarried babies have been burned—and hundreds of them have been disposed of as clinical waste. In the last two years, at least 15,000 fetal remains were incinerated by 27 NHS trusts, a Channel 4 Dispatches documentary revealed.
A total of ten NHS trusts admit to disposing of 1,000 sets of fetal remains as “clinical waste” while two more accept they used “wasteto- energy” incinerators which generate power for hospitals. Health Minister Dr. Dan Poulter said: “This practice is totally unacceptable.” That is why I have asked Professor Sir Bruce Keogh, NHS Medical Director, to write to all NHS hospital trusts.
“He has since written out to the NHS and made clear that it must stop now. The Chief Medical Officer has also written to the Human Tissue Authority to ask them to make sure that there is clear guidance on this issue.”
Addenbrooke’s hospital in Cambridge disposed of 797 babies below 13 weeks gestation in their own “waste to energy” plant, the Daily Mail reports.
The Care Quality Commission said it will also investigate the findings uncovered by the documentary.
